The big ECG screening session is underway up at The Shay stadium in Halifax as we are holding a whole afternoon of ECG screening for Halifax Rugby League club.

For the whole afternoon, players and staff of the club will be coming in and out of the stadium as they have their hearts tested for irregularities by the kind people at Cardiac Risk in the Young. The test is a simple five minute reading of the hearts activities and can be potentially life saving in the long run. The results are almost instantaneous and a cardiologist is on hand for the afternoon giving feedback to the participants.

This afternoon was all possible through the efforts made by the clubs staff and players in November by completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks charity walk.  The money raised from the walk has gone towards making sure another sporting organisations players and participants are safe from Sudden Cardiac Arrest!
