Being involved in sports from a young age and then throughout adulthood through husband Tony, Gemma was one of the original trustees of Heartbeat of Sport and helped to develop its aims and objectives in 2012.

With family and other commitments taking the forefront, Gemma didn’t become fully involved with the charity until 2015, taking up the role of co-ordinator.

Gemma’s role covers a very wide spectrum from administration duties to standing and speaking to an audience.

With her creativity, eye for detail and good organisational skills, Gemma ran a successful cake making business before taking up the role within Heartbeat of Sport. These skills have helped the charity in managing day to day running, producing good quality promotional material/events posters as well as organising and running charity events.

Being a mum of 3, Gemma is passionate about getting defibrillators in to schools, educating our next generation on heart health and has helped to spearhead the schools programme. Working closely with husband Tony and brother-in-law Brad, the schools programme concentrates on getting children active, educating about smart food choices as well as age appropriate first aid. She also recognised the need to educate parents on the steps they can take to ensure their children can deal with an emergency situation.

Gemma and the team are working hard to ensure the charity keeps moving forward, stays up to date with the latest technologies and ultimately help to save more lives.
