School Programme

School Programme

Heartbeat of Sport are actively working with a number of Community Rugby League Clubs, Primary and Secondary schools to deliver a programme of healthy eating and the importance of an active lifestyle to improve cardiovascular and general health.

The charity are an active partner in the Junior Touch Rugby League project which has seen the delivery of sessions to Derbyshire schools at Primary and Secondary level. They are also supporting the development of a similar scheme in Primary schools in North Yorkshire.

Benefits To Schools

The charity will work with the school to secure grant funding to cover the costs of delivering the sessions plus the donation of equipment to continue the programme once the initial delivery phase has been completed. If schools would like to pay for sessions in addition to the initial phase then we will be happy to work out an ongoing programme.

Benefits to Community Clubs

The charity are happy to work with local Community Rugby League Clubs to deliver sessions to players, parents, volunteers, etc. We can also work with community clubs and schools to put a player pathway in place that will provide opportunities for pupils with an interest in playing the sport longer term into a structured coaching environment.

As with schools, the charity are happy to work with community clubs to develop grant application bids to secure funding to deliver sessions, equipment for delivery, etc.
